Our City Water System Services

Municipal Water Supply Connection

We ensure efficient connections to the municipal water supply for newly constructed properties or those transitioning from a well system.

Trenched and Trenchless Installation and Replacement of Services

Our goal is to install or replace a water service as quickly as possible with as little disruption or damage to your property. We will work with you to determine the best approach - trenched or trenchless- for your water services.

City Water Service Replacements or Repair

Over time your city water service connection can fail. Symptoms of a failing water hook-up include a wet spot in your yard, reduced water pressure in your home or water leaking through your basement wall. Replacing aging city water systems is our specialty.

Worry Free City Water Service Installation and Repairs

City water service installation and replacements are complicated. Before the work is done, an application to the town for a plumbing permit must be submitted and Service locates (hydro, bell, rogers and gas) must be requested to ensure safe excavation. For the work to be completed the city water needs to be turned off on the street and once the work is completed, before the water can be turned back on, a Plumbing Inspection must be completed by the local inspector. No need to worry, our skilled customer service team oversees and coordinates from beginning to end.

FAQs

  • What permits are required for city water hook-up?

A Plumbing Permit from your local municipality or city is required for both a new or repair to an existing city water service.

Our customer service team will assist you in applying for the permit as well as coordinating the final inspection once the work is completed. One of our technicians will also be onsite during the inspection to answer any questions the plumbing inspector may have.

  • How long does the service replacement process take?

The duration of the service replacement process largely depends on several factors such as the complexity of the project, weather conditions, permit approval and located timelines. On average, once we start the actual work, it can take anywhere between 1-3 days.

It's worth noting that despite these timeframes, our team always prioritizes efficiency without compromising on quality. We understand that disruptions to your water supply can be inconvenient, which is why we strive to complete each project within a reasonable timeline while ensuring top-notch workmanship. Throughout the process, we will keep you informed of the progress.

  • What preventive measures do you take to prevent leaks during installation?

Before the work begins, our team will inspect the work area both inside and outside to identify the best strategies to protect your home and your property. The work will not be started until the city has turned the water off on the street. Once this is done, our technicians will ensure the water flow to your house has been stopped by checking your water meter and running taps.

After the installation or repair is completed, the line will be pressure tested to ensure there are no leaks.

Finally, on the days up to when we are scheduled to install or repair your service we monitor the weather. If significant rain is expected, we will reschedule to avoid the risk of flooding your basement

  • Do I need to be home during the entire installation process?

While you don't need to be present throughout the entire installation process, we do recommend that someone is available at key points during the service. This ensures efficient communication and allows us to address any immediate concerns or changes that may arise during the work.

In some instances, we may need access inside your home for certain tasks or inspections related to city water hook-up or service replacement. In such cases, having a responsible adult present would be beneficial for both parties involved. However, we value your time and convenience; therefore, our team will coordinate with you in advance about these requirements so you can plan your schedule accordingly. Rest assured that with or without your presence, our commitment to delivering a seamless service remains unchanged.
