Our Backflow Prevention Services

Backflow Preventer Installation

Our team of licensed technicians will expertly install backflow prevention valves in your home or business, ensuring the safety of your water supply. A backflow preventer is needed in a home when there is an underground irrigation system when a water boiler or water is being supplied from the house to an outbuilding. then sentence about home dialysis.

Businesses and commercial properties require backflow valves on their main water supply line and at any point where potable water could mix with unpotable water.

Backflow Preventer Repair

We provide prompt repair services at the first sign of a backflow value malfunction which is water on the floor around the valve. This water means the protective relief valve is being triggered.

Backflow Inspection & Testing

Backflow valves should be tested annually. To ensure this happens the Region of Durham now notifies building owners when their valves need to be inspected.

Backflow Surveying of Commercial Buildings

Commercial buildings are legally responsible for ensuring backflow prevention devices are installed appropriately and maintained to avoid contamination of the regional potable water supply.

To ensure a commercial building meets these regulations our licensed back preventor installers can complete an inspection and written report.

FAQs

  • Why is backflow prevention essential, the implications of its failure, and is it mandatory to install one?

A backflow value protects potable water by ensuring the clean water in your system is never contaminated by dirty water in your plumbing system.

Backflow valves are required in residential homes when there is an underground irrigation system, water from the home supplies other buildings on the property, there is a boiler system or a home dialysis machine.

All commercial properties must have a backflow prevention valve.

  • How often should I have my backflow preventer inspected?

A visual inspection will not determine if your backflow valve is working properly. This is why it is essential to have the valve tested annually. Sometimes a valve will leak a small amount of water on the floor which is an indication the valve is failing but not all valves will do this.

  • What are some signs that indicate I may need backflow inspection, testing, and repair?

Backflow valves need to be inspected annually to ensure they are in good working order. In between inspections if you notice any of the following you should schedule a backflow valve inspection:

    • Change in or fluctuations in water pressure.
    • A sudden change in the colour, taste, or smell of your water.
    • Notice water on the floor or walls around, near, or under the valve.
